On January 30, 2020, the Board of Directors of COAC visited the Staff Sgt. Dick Wood Warrior Village located in Heath, OH to present Save A Warrior (SAW) with a $30,000 donation. This donation was made possible by the great turnout and participant support at the 2019 Patriot Shoot held at the Cardinal Shooting Center in August 2019. The Board members were able to witness the closing session of an active “cohort” (the week-long SAW program). It was a very moving and emotional experience which reinforced the need to continue to support great organizations such as SAW and reminded the Board why we do what we do.
The Staff Sgt. Dick Wood Warrior Village is a 47-acre property which allows SAW to increase the number of veterans who participate in their life-saving program. This innovative, evidence-based program provides a powerful healing experience for active duty military, veterans and first responders who are suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress.
